Leadership in the Trenches: How great Leaders operate on the Construction Site

Leadership on the construction site can be quite different than the approach in the office.  Creating a culture of collaboration, ownership mentality and accountability requires an approach that will be embraced in a way that translates with the people who are hands on building your projects.  This 90 minute interactive workshop will explore practical ways to provide leadership in the trenches, where it’s needed most.  Come prepared to share ideas, explore insightful topics and leave with actions you can start implementing in your business right away.

Your Presenter: Chas Waitt
Chas has been working in construction for the past 22 years. He’s always been a trade craft worker and has continually enjoyed working with his hands. Chas is both an Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter and a Blacksmith.He has been a Site Superintendent for 17 years. His daily tasks comprise of managing job sites – including its staff and sub-contractors – as well as coordinating deliveries, materials, scheduling, and budget control. About 2.5 years ago, Chas was promoted to General Superintendent. With his promotion came new responsibilities, including supervising multiple sites, supporting multiple Site Superintendents, maintaining relationships with trades, helping plan training programs, and more! Site visits are an additional responsibility added to Chas’s workload that he takes tremendous care to perform.
